LURE MAKING PRODUCTS |
After the first Workshop Episode aired there was so much interest I've decided to do a bunch more about lure making. Many of the products I use can be hard to find, so we decided to add the mold making and casting products I use for creating lures to the website.
These will be shipped directly to you from the factory to ensure total freshness, which is important for proper curing.
Thanks,
Larry

Quick setting general purpose rubber that does not require vacuuming and is great for making simple one and two piece molds. I use this one for both soft plastics, resins, and limited lead pouring applications. On thin walled molds, this material has less “bulge” when filled with resin than softer silicones. Best choice for detailed parts if you're in a big hurry. Be sure to use Mold Release spray before pouring second piece of a two piece mold with this, and all silicones. |

Highest tear strength rubber is my all around for making 1 or 2 piece molds.Best all around performance due to thin viscosity, high stretch, and high strength. Ok for all resins and lead. Be sure to use Mold Release spray when pouring the second half of a two piece mold with this stuff! |

The most flexible RTV is very tough and recommended for parts with deep undercuts or negative drafts. |

Knead equal amounts of putty to create quick molds of practically anything. Lightning fast 10 minute cure time! Most durable RTV and best choice for molds intended for pouring lead. Its thick viscosity requires pressing it firmly around your model to form mold, so the model must be made of a firm material. Very durable and my favorite when ever I can get away with using it. |

Alumilite White provides users with an extremely user friendly rigid urethane that has good overall physical properties and a beautiful cosmetic white appearance. Thinnest of all resins, a 3 min. open time & a 5-10 min. demold time. My favorite for molding lures I plan on painting because it requires no primer. Try dusting your mold with Alumilite metallic powder before pouring and you’ll end up with a fantastic, tough, non-chip metallic finish.

Produces a high impact rigid clear casting that is commonly used for lenses, encapsulations, and water reproductions. Great for making clear and dyed translucent spinner blades using simple tableware type spoons as molds. Just spray spoon with mold release and pour. Also great for jigging spoons, clear non-floating lure bodies. Easy to imbed exact amounts of lead or reflective foils into casting to achieve specialized actions, sink rates, and finishes.

Provides users with an extremely tough, high temperature resistant, rigid urethane that is easy to use. Just slightly heavier than water (1.05 specific gravity) and very tough material for casting lure bodies. You have a wide range of control from highly buoyant to neutrally buoyant by adding Micro Balloons, or fast sinking by adding weight.

Cures to a rigid, self skinning, light weight, durable foam. Expands up to 10 times the original liquid volume. Best for repairing hollow lures that have been punctured, also strong enough to use for casting super buoyant, light weight super-tough lure bodies. Goes off fast and sets up quickly.
