Message: Hello Larry,
I saw your show for the first time, and it was awesome! You were fishing with your round headed bass bug for those Labrador Brookies. You mentioned that you normally use the fly for heavy cover bass. I assume that means Largemouth but do you use the fly for smallies and how about muskies? It looked like a round deer spun head with hackles out the back, correct me if I am wrong. The action looked enticing. It's a different action/presentation that many muskies likely don't see. Have you tried a larger version for muskies? Just Curious. Thanks and good fishing to you.

Message: Hi Dan,
I use four head shapes; poppers, divers, sliders, and skippers.
I bend the hook into a keel shape on the skipper and use a super long shank. convex belly, more material on top.
Hook rides up, plus when stationary, tail slowly sinks until fly is in vertical position with feathers tickling fish in the nose.
I've used them all for musky. Favorite is the diver. Skipper designed specifically to go OVER surface vegetation, and have maximum possible sex appeal at rest, instead diving like a popper or diver. Rear weightedness of Skipper creates more commotion on retrieve also if made to "slap" instead of chug.
Glad you enjoyed the show, let me know what you think of the next several.
best,
L
